Why is it unsafe to only use the fence as a guide for making crosscuts on a table saw? Check out the video and description below, as Travis explains why.

Instead, clamp a block that’s exactly 1-in. thick behind the saw blade.

Set the fence to cut 1-in. longer than your desired final board length.

Now you can cut multiple boards exactly the same length without any fear of kickback injuries.
