Paint Tight Spots with Custom Foam Brushes
Here’s how to customize a foam paint brush for painting cubbyholes. Using a hacksaw, cut off half the brush handle at about a 45-degree angle. Glue a 12-in. length of wooden dowel to the cut end with five-minute epoxy. Wrap electrical tape around the joint to hold it while the glue cures (no reason to take it off later). I made a whole bunch of different sizes at one time for a roll-top desk I was finishing, and they worked better than any gadgets I’ve seen at the paint store.
