Reader Project: Classic Bookcase

This entertainment center by reader Matt Godsey looks professionally built! But he made it himself using our Classic Bookcase plans, originally published in the December/January 2014 issue of The Family Handyman.

“I saw your bookcase on the cover of the December/January 2014 issue and thought it was just amazing and way beyond anything I could do at that point. However, the way you wrote your article and described the plans made me feel as though I could really build something that beautiful,” Matt says.

He adds that he really enjoyed learning all of the techniques that went along with the project, especially the fluted columns and raised-panel door. Matt even added some puck lights to the top shelves!
